MISSION

Our mission is to contribute to the psychosocial wellbeing of people whose lives are affected by humanitarian crises by providing access to community-based sociotherapy: a group-based approach which strengthens feelings of safety, trust, dignity, and restores social fabric.

VISION

Our vision is that people whose lives were severely interrupted by humanitarian crises, are able to live their lives in peace and (re)establish meaningful relationships in their communities.

GOAL

Our goal is to build a network and knowledge institute for community-based sociotherapy professionals, trainers and organisations implementing or interested to implement community-based sociotherapy based on defined quality standards in their communities.

WHAT WE DO

As a knowledge institute, we work with CBS professionals and organisations, including trainers, supervisors, implementers and researchers. Together we contribute to quality enhancement of CBS projects. We work to achieve our goals through:

  • Developing and promoting quality standards and organizational systems based on the philosophy of community-based sociotherapy;
  • Providing access to a database of guiding CBS documents, manuals and CBS professionals;
  • Providing training of trainers and sociotherapists in facilitating community-based sociotherapy groups;
  • Supporting partners worldwide with the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CBS projects.
